Abigail Alford married 2 April 1851 Texas Corners, Kalamazoo Co., MI., to William Wallace Lewis and had children Mary, William Alford, Martha Jane., and Isabelle "Belle" Lewis. William Wallace Lewis left wife and family prior to 1858 for the West. She married Luther Delos Follett Sr. 15 Sep 1858 Van Buren Co., MI., thinking 1st husband William Wallace Lewis died in Ferry accident and drowned. Luther Delos Follett (Sr.) and she had two sons: Carlton Bartlett Follett and Luther Delos Follett Jr. before he died in June 6, 1862 in Civil War from Typhoid fever at Jefferson Barracks, St. Louis, MO. After his death she remarried 1st husband William Wallace Lewis 24 Aug. 1864 Wyandotte, Wayne Co., MI. He legally adopted the two Follett boys.

Mrs. Abbie Lewis
Mrs. Abbie Lewis, aged 82, a pioneer resident of Oshtemo township, died at 5 o'clock Saturday afiernoon at the home of her son, W. A. Lewis, 1043 Pitcher street.
Following the death of her husband only a week ago. Mrs Lewis came to the city to live, but she could not survive the shock caused by the loss of her beloved companion. Announcement of her funeral later.

Funeral of Mrs. Abbie Lewis will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from Truesdale's chapel, 425 West Main street. Burial in Genesee Prairie Cemetery.
