He was the son of Woods Blakemore Kyle and Ida Highsaw Kyle.
On Saturday evening, May 11, 1946, he married Geraldine June Weed, daughter of John M. Weed at the First Methodist Church in Rockdale, Texas. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. P.T. Ramsey assisted by the Rev. Frank Luker, pastor of the church.
They were the parents of two children.

Woods Blakemore Kyle Jr. of Austin. Age 66. Died September 30, 1984 in Austin hospital. Services held October 2 in Austin's Weed-Corley Chapel. Graveside services in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Rockdale. Dr. Joseph H. Lawson officiated. Weed-Corley Funeral Home of Austin in charge of arrangements.

He was born March 14, 1918 in Beaumont to Mr. Woods Blakemore and Ida Highsaw Kyle Jr. He was owner/operator of Kennelwood boat dock on Lake Austin for 32 years. He was a World War II veteran and received the Silver Star, Purple Heart with cluster and the Croix de Guerre. Graduate of Lamar University.

Survivors: Wife, Mrs. Geraldine Weed Kyle of Austin; two sons, Karl B. Kyle and Keith D. Kyle of Austin; grandson, Kelly Kyle; brother, Albert E. Kyle of Hackberry, Louisiana; two step-brothers, Charles H. Webb and Roy Webb; step-sister, Mildred Gotte; brother-in-law, John M. Weed Jr. of Rockdale.
