OBITUARY - MARY KYLE EVANS - CANDOR COURIER - 15 JAN 1919 (DATED INCORRECTLY - SHOULD BE 1920)
The sad news reached us Wednesday afternoon that Mrs. Mary Kyle Evans was lying helpless from a shock, but that her mind was clear.

Friday the word came that she had passed away. Mary Orcutt was the youngest daughter of James and Salina Orcutt, and the last one of her immediate family of one sister and four brothers. She was married to Theron D. Kyle on November 23, 1859 and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 23, 1909. Mr. Kyle passing away the next month. A few years later she married Stephen Evans who survives her. She is also survived by four children: Maggie Knight of Binghamton, Frederick T. Kyle of Catatonk, Albert J. Kyle and Mrs. Lula M. Wheeler of Candor and four daughters proceeded their parents to the better land, little Ella and Hattie, Mrs. Ada Cleveland and Mrs. Mary Andrews. Mrs. Andrews daughter, Vade was but 5 years of age when her beloved mother left her to the loving care of her grandmother and that has ever since been her home and she will really miss her more than others, for she was constantly with her. Mrs. Evans is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Everyone who knew her lover her, and those who knew her best loved her most. She early in life gave her heart to God and joined the ME Church of which she was always a faithful and consistent member. Her childhood and youth were spent in the place, and many, many years of her married life.

The funeral services were held at her late home in Hubbardstown, Sunday afternoon and internment was in Woodbridge Cemetery above Catatonk. Our old friends are fast passing away, and how we shall all miss them. But those of their own immediate families only know how lonely it will be to have these dear ones leave us.

Woodbridge Cemetery Record Book (Incorporated June 8, 1870), Tioga County Historical Society, pg. 147 notes Mary Orcutt Kyle's cause of death was apoplexy
