Mrs. Laura Kyger Diehl, 85, Pineville, wife of Harvey J. Diehl, died Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Virginia Mennonite Home where she had been a patient since January.

Daughter of William Franklin and Eliza Showalter Kyger, she was born Sept. 8, 1877 at Port Republic. She spent the greater part of her life in the Pineville and Port Republic communities. Several years prior to going to
the Mennonite Home she lived at Dayton.

On Thanksgiving Day, 1902, she married Harvey Diehl, who survives. Also surviving are five sons, Wilmer J., Port Republic; Harry W. Rockville, Md.; Vernon M. and Ivan E., McGaheysville; Byron B., Bridgewater; two daughters, Mrs. B. L. Bausserman, Washington; and Mrs. Louise D. Greenburg, New York; Also, two brothers, Wilford G. Kyger, Port Republic; and Webb W. Kyger, Loveland, Colo.; four sisters, Mrs. Nettie Long and Mrs. Fannie Hartman, Palmyra, Pa.; Mrs. Lula Conrad, Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Ethel Mclnturff, Harrisonburg; 20 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Mill Creek Church of the Brethren with the pastor, the Rev. Charles E. Zunkel in charge. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers are: C. H. Mundy, Leoma Sipe, Homer Sacra, Albert Morris, Elzie Morris, Elsworth Kyger, Wendell Cline and Clifford Good.

The family will meet at the home of Vernon M. Diehl, near Pineville, Thursday at 2:30. Friends will be received Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:30 at the Kyger Funeral Home.

The body will be placed in the church at 12:30 Thursday.
