Died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ruth Lingenfelter of 1004 Twenty-third avenue, at 4.25 o'clock this morning after an extended illness. She was born in Altoona Nov. 12, 1873, a daughter of George and Kate (McCloskey) Kurtz, Her husband, Alva E. Davis, died in 1935. Surviving are the daughter, an adopted sister, Miss Mabel K. Scott of New Kensington; one brother, Thomas Kurtz of Chehales, Wash., and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Davis' husband was identified prominently with the insurance business in Altoona for many years and had served as president of the Logan township school board. He earlier had engaged in the grocery business. Mrs. Davis was a member of the Fourth Lutheran church and Queen Esther Bible class.
