Kat was a proud Texan born in Ennis, Texas. As the daughter of a Katy Railroad man, she and her family moved to Waco when Kathleen was six months old. They were charter members of Calvary Baptist Church. For the last 25 years, Kathleen was a proud member of First Baptist Church of Hewitt. After graduating from Waco High School in 1931, Kathleen had a successful career with Monnig's Department Store, retiring as office manager after 32 years. Kathleen shared a wonderful life with her husband, Elmer Kunz Jr., who died in 1985. In earlier years, she fished and traveled. She loved working in her yard, and flowers, birds and trees. She is survived by her baby sister, Louise Spurgin, of Dallas; many nieces and nephews; her constant companion, her cat "Sweet Baby"; and many dear friends.
