Barbara Mary Kunkel Anderson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, died peacefully on November 27, 2008.

She was born on October 31, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Delbert Wallace and Margaret Hilton Kunkel. Attended schools in Utah, California and Oregon, and was a proud graduate of South High's class of 1943. Barbara married her childhood companion and high school sweetheart, Allen S. Anderson on September 27, 1946, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. As Allen served in the US Air Force, Barbara worked as secretarial assistant to the Provo Marshall at Kearns Air Force base. They built their home together in Holladay where they have lived for 60 years.

Barbara was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various capacities in the Relief Society, Sunday School, Young Women's and Primary organizations. She was a former hostess at the General Relief Society Building, and served (with her husband) as a temple worker in the baptistry at the Jordan River Temple for 18 years. Her testimony of the Savior and her desire to serve Him stand as an example, as does her legacy of love. She always put her family first.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 62 years, Allen; two children, son Mark (Georgia) and daughter Nancy Page (Brent); 10 grandchildren. Meighan Smith (Chris), Sarah Whiting (Clint), Benjamin Page (Jamaica), Jacob Anderson, Amy Jorgensen (Michael), Jared Anderson, and Anne, James, Isaac, and Sarah Marshall; five great-grandchildren; and a sister- in- law Kathryn Kunkel. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Delbert Kunkel Jr.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 1, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Holladay North Stake Center, 4395 South Albright Drive (2145 East) in Holladay. There will be a viewing held at the Cannon Mortuary, 2460 East Bengal Boulevard (7700 South) in Cottonwood Heights on Sunday, November 30 from 6-8 p.m. and the day of the services at the Church from 10:00-10:45 a.m.
