Our beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Jeffrey Mark Kummer, age 27, returned home to his Heavenly Father on October 6, 2000.
He was born September 24, 1973 in Murray, Utah, to Duane L. and Janet Kummer. He graduated from West Jordan High School and attended Salt Lake Community College.
Jeff's lifetime dream was to become a commercial pilot, which he was close to completing. He died in an airplane accident while pursuing his multi-engine commercial license.
Jeff was active in the LDS church, and completed an honorable mission in the Canada, Toronto East Mission.
He served in many church callings, mainly with the Young Men. Jeff was an Eagle Scout and always enjoyed working in scouting.
Jeff loved all outdoor activities - camping, boating, skiing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting, etc., but the love of his life was flying. He loved his dogs "Zieger" and "Marlie," who he called "Dumb and Dumber." Jeff was employed by Frito-Lay as a truck driver. He was multi-talented in building computers and anything he set his mind to, but the greatest talent for which he will be remembered for is his genuine love for every person he met. He made friends with everyone and everyone loved him. You could meet Jeff for one day and remember him forever.
Survived by his parents; brother, Brian (Laura) Kummer, West Valley City; sisters, Tami (Bob) Chambers, West Jordan; Christy (Ryan) Wangsgard, West Jordan; nephews, Andrew; and Coy; nieces, Madison; and Ashley; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Beatrice Kummer; Dean Pulley; and Ken and Gladys Ivie.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 16, 2000, 12 noon in the West Jordan Westland Stake Center, 7265 South 2700 West. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Rd, and at the church one hour prior to services on Monday.
Interment at Redwood Memorial Estates.
