Regina "Red" Kuhlman was born on July 19, 1933 in Split Rock Township. She died on March 1, 1999.
At the age of 14 her father, Andrew Kwapick, died. Two years later her mother left, at which time Regina had the strength to go on and love and nurture her younger brothers, a sister and an aunt. This she did with the help of her older brothers and sisters, giving her the deep appreciation of family and its importance in one's life.
At the age of 20, she came to know and love the man she chose to marry on Aug. 29, 1953, Eugene Carl Kuhlman.
They moved to St. Paul where their door opened to many who needed a place to live until they found a place of their own. God blessed their lives with five children: Gary, Cheryl, Glen, Chris and Mike. They tried her patience at times, but she loved them unconditionally. Eugene and Regina moved their family to Rush City in 1966, where she resided for the remainder of her life.
Her children gave her 20 grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.
She worked at Plastech Research for more than 30 years, leaving there on Sept. 30, 1997 upon being diagnosed with cancer.
She loved her family and friends so much that, even through her pain and suffering, she became their support, comfort and strength ñ caring for others before herself. This care included supporting her sonís goals and dreams by working for him in his business. Yes, she supported her family and believed in them with all her heart, always more concerned with them than with herself, until her faith in God brought Jesus to take her home.
Her legend will go on forever as she dwells in the hearts and memories of her family.
