Shirley J Baker, 66, died Saturday, July 6, 2002, at her home. She had pulmonary disease.
Mrs Baker graduated from Elm Creek High School in 1954 and Airline Personnel Institute in Omaha, Neb. She worked for Planning Research Corporation in Forbes Field Industrial Park for 23 years. Mrs Baker lived in North Platte, Neb., Tucson, Ariz, and California before moving to Hays.
She was born Dec 29, 1935, in Nebraska, the daughter of Otto C and Mary Mains Kuebler.
Mrs Baker was a member of El Bethel Church in Burlingame.
She married Lawrence O "Larry" Baker on June 2, 1973, in Hays. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Sally Downs, Topeka; two step-sons, Lonnie Baker, Osage City, and Al Baker, Holton; a stepdaughter, Cyndi Thompsom, Quenemo; a sister, Linda Hemm, Topeka; a brother, Bud Kuebler, Topeka; two grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; a great-grandson; and three stepgreatgrandchildren.
Memorial services were July 10 at the Burlingame Federated Church. Burial was in Burlingame Cemetery.
