Betty Arlene Kuebler, beloved mother and grandmother resident of Boulder, Mont., passed away at age 72 in the Peace Hospice House in Great Falls, Mont., on March 26, 2013.
Betty was born Aug. 15, 1940, in Lovell, Wyo., one of seven children. She moved to Seattle in her late teens and embarked on a successful business career, and during this time she also met Frank Vitcovich, her fist husband and the love of her life. She spent many happy years with her husband and two young children in the house they built in Edmonds, Wash., traveling and dedicating herself to work and family.
Betty and Frank moved to Boulder in 1995. Frank passed away shortly afterwards after a short but hard battle with cancer. Betty suffered a stroke the same year, and Edward Kuebler stepped forward to help her through it. They married several years later.
In 2003 her granddaughter, Brittney Vitcovich, came to live with her, and Betty and Edward raised her like their own daughter. Betty continued to be a mother to Brittney after Ed's death in 2009.
Betty moved to Billings that same year to be near some other family, but circumstances led her back to Boulder where friends happily received her.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Vitcovich; her father, Perry David Bruce Sr.; her mother, Dorothy Bruce; her youngest sister, Nellie Kaufmann; her brother Larry Bruce; her second husband, Edward Kuebler.
She is survived by her brothers Ervin Paddock and Perry David Bruce Jr.; her sisters Patsy Herden and Evelyn Merrill; her two children, Brian (Carol) Vitcovich and Cynthia Vitcovich; and her two grandchildren, Brittney Vitcovich and Matthew Lukkes.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, April 2, at 1 p.m. from the First Boulder Valley Baptist Church at Boulder with Rev. Dan McCarl and Rev. Ron Palmer officiating.
K&L Mortuaries & Crematory of Boulder assisting with arrangements.
