Nellie (Kruse) Barone, of Avon, beloved wife for 56 years of the late Sidney A. Barone, entered eternal rest on Monday, (January 9, 2006). She was born on September 22, 1918 and was raised in Avon, along with 12 brothers and sisters. An avid gin player right up to her death, she could be found at the card table every Saturday with her two daughters. She also enjoyed Bingo and was a trophy-winning duckpin bowler. She spent hours reading and enjoyed swapping books with the family. She leaves behind her three children, Sharon Schardt and her husband Matt of Bolton, Sandy Archibald of Plainville and Ron Barone and his wife Kathy of Burlington. Gramma will be greatly missed by her beloved grandchildren, Wendy Bargoil and her husband Ben of Easton, PA, Whitney Stiehler of Brighton, MA and Erin and Michael Barone of Burlington. Nellie also leaves behind two brothers, John Kruse of Unionville and Ken Kruse of Wallingford; three sisters, Eleanor Morgan of Windsor Locks, Margaret Marchetine of Bristol and Geri Griggs of Lincoln, CA; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Frederick, Herman, Albert, and Paul Kruse and her sisters, Evelyn Greska, Emma Laviero, and Vilma Tower. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, Jan. 12, 10 a.m. in the chapel of the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Rd., Avon. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Jan. 11 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
