Paul Kruse, 76, of Hartford, died on Thursday, (March 28, 2002) at Avery Heights Healthcare Center, Hartford. He was born August 14, 1925 in Avon, son of the late Frederick and Annie (Obropta) Kruse and had lived in Avon for many years prior to moving to Hartford. He was a Veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army, Company C 335th Infantry Regiment and engaged in the Battle of the Bulge where he received the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, the Victory Medal and the Army of occupation Medal of Germany. He was employed by Colt's Manufacturing Company for many years prior to his retirement. Paul was an avid sportsman and touched the lives of everyone who knew him and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by three brothers, John Kruse of Unionville, Albert Kruse of Avon, Kenneth Kruse of Wallingford; six sisters, Emma Laviero of Bristol, Margaret Marchetini of Bristol, Geri Griggs of Lincoln, CA, Eleanor Morgan of Windsor Locks, Nellie Barone of Avon and Vilma Tower of Simsbury and Inverness, FL; several sisters and brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his best friend, ``Rocky Tower''. He was predeceased by two brothers, Frederick Kruse of Unionville, Herman Kruse of Collinsville; and a sister, Evelyn Greska of Windsor. Graveside funeral service and burial, with full Military Honors, will be Monday, April 15, 11 a.m. in St. Ann's Cemetery, Avon. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1004, Meriden, CT 06450-1004. Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike, Canton has charge of arrangements.
