John R. Kruse, son of Fred Kruse and Margret Kruse nee Rust, was a native of Germany and was born at Oldenberg on Jan. 16, 1873. In January 1888, when he was fifteen years old, he came to the United States and located northwest of Lorton, Nebr. On April 28, 1905 he was married to Miss Dora Probst, the ceremony taking place at Cook, with Rev. Johannes Lehmann officiating. Two sons were born to this union. Otto and Richard, both of whom survive their father. Mr. Kruse was an industrious and hard working man, and devoted his life to farming, where he succeeded well. Seven years ago he retired from farming and he and his wife located in Cook. Besides his widow and sons Mr. Kruse is survived by three grandchildren, and two brothers, William of Unadilla and Fred of Syracuse. To all is extended sympathy.
