Life Legacy

Dorothy Ann Aberle, 71, Surrey, ND, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at her residence with her loving family by her side, following a long battle with cancer.

Dorothy was born April 30, 1942 in Rugby, ND, the daughter of Joseph and Helen (Scherr) Kremer. She was raised and educated in the Balta, ND area and graduated from Balta High School in 1960. Dorothy married Joseph H. Aberle on September 24, 1962 in Balta. They moved to a farmstead near Verendrye, ND. In 1965 they moved to Surrey.

In 1962, Dorothy began work at Tempo in Minot. In 1964, she attended Bernel Hairstyling College. Dorothy was employed at Gilmore's House of Beauty, Minot, City of Surrey, Scheels Hardware, Minot, Broadway Fabrics and Uniforms, Minot, Greater N.W. Publishing, Minot, and the Minot Daily News. In 1992, Dorothy began working at Medical Arts Clinic, Minot, in the medical records department and worked there until her retirement in 2010.

Dorothy enjoyed gardening, sewing, camping, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Dorothy was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot, and was a member of the Christian Mothers Society. She served as Treasurer in Surrey for six years and served at Treasurer for the Sports Booster at Surrey school.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Joseph "Joe" Aberle, Surrey; sons, Bruce (Kristin) Aberle, Bismarck, ND, and Wayne (Lynae) Aberle, Burlington, ND; daughter, Lynette Keller, Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren, Alexa Keller, Sioux Falls, SD, Carter Keller, Sioux Falls, SD, Kaitlyn Aberle, Bismarck, and Matthew Aberle, Burlington; brothers, Howard (Linda) Kremer, Fargo, ND, and Ronald (Wanda) Kremer, Balta; sisters, Janice (Roy) Pfeifer, Rugby, ND, Bernadette (Nick) Senger, Rugby, Lillian (Joe) Bachmeier, Havre, MT, and Marlys (Paul) Bohrer, Fargo, ND; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Joseph Kremer.

Memorials are preferred to Trinity Health's Cancer Exercise Rehab program or Trinity Health Hospice in Minot, you can send these to the Foundation at Trinity St. Joseph's Hospital at 407 3 St SE, Minot, ND 58701.

Funeral: Monday, November 4, 2013 at 10:30 am at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot.

Visitation: Sunday from noon-4:00 at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot and from 5:00-6:00 at St. Leo's Catholic Church.

Vigil Prayer Service: Sunday, November 3, 2013 at 6:00 pm at St. Leo's Catholic Church.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
