Mrs. Dorothy Mae Goering, age 75, of McPherson, KS , died at 10:45 AM, Wednesday, June 29th, 2005 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center St. Francis Campus, Wichita, Sedgwick County, Ks. Dorothy Mae Krehbiel Goering, age 75 of McPherson, Ks. died June 29, 2005 at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.Born September 30, 1929 at the family home southeast of Moundridge, Ks, she was the second child of Herb J. and Esther V. Goering Krehbiel. She attended Happy Hollow country school and graduated from Moundridge High School in 1947 prior to attending Bethel College. Dorothy was baptized upon her confession of faith at First Mennonite Church of Christian, Moundridge.On January 30, 1949 she married Kenneth W. Goering. They raised three sons. Dorothy was a lifetime resident of McPherson County. She relished in her role as a wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed a career in the McPherson County Clerk's Office, serving as Deputy Clerk. She later worked with the Soil Conservation Service and was a co-owner of Ken Goering Motors, McPherson. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth; sons Alan and Ginger Goering, Medicine Lodge; Barton L. and Cynthia Goering, Olathe; Timothy and Nancy Goering, McPherson; three grandsons, Christian, Topeka; Gabriel and Jessica Goering, McPherson; Alexander, Olathe; one step granddaughter, Danielle Laidlaw and her husband Jason, one step-great grandson, Bryatt Jordan, Junctin City; two sisters, Kathleen Stucky and Lola Jane Fensky and her husband Myron, Moundridge; and brother Herbert J. Krehbiel and his wife Bonnie, Wichita. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kenneth James. Dorothy loved playing cards and was a life master in the American Contract Bridge League. She will always be remembered as a caring, loving and generous soul.Visitation for Dorothy will be on Friday, July 1, 2005 from 3 to 8 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Glidden - Ediger Funeral Home; 222 West Euclid Street; McPherson, Kansas 67460Graveside services will be conducted by Pastor Leonard Wiebe on Saturday, July 2, 2005 at 5:00 p.m., at the McPherson Cemetery, McPherson, Kansas.Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m., on Saturday, July 2, 2005 by Pastor Leonard Wiebe at the First Mennonite Church, McPherson, Kansas.Memorials in memory of Dorothy are suggested to the First Mennonite Church, McPherson or Memorial Home of Moundridge.
