OBITUARY: Louise Benben, Area Resident Since 1927 Dies
Mrs. Louise Benben, 90, widow of Frank Benben and a resident of Perkins County and Ogallala since 1927, died early Monday evening at the home of her son, Henry, 615 W Third Street, Ogallala.
Mrs Benben had attended church services Sunday and was about as usual Monday, her sudden death being attributed to a heart attack.
A recitation of the Rosary was held last evening in the Memorial chapel at the Bracken Mortuary and the Rt. Rev. Msgr. PP.J. Kenny was the celebrant at a requiem mass this morning in St. Luke's Catholic Church. Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery at Grant.
Louise Kowalski was born Jan. 1, 1875, at Krokow, Poland, where she was reared and married Mr Benben. After the arrival of their second child in 1898, they came to the United States and established their first American home on a farm near Ord, in Valley county.
They moved to a farm in Perkins county, near Grant, in 1927. Four years after Mr. Benben's death in 1936, Mrs Benben moved to Ogallala and had made her home here continuously since that time.
She is survived by three daughters Mrs. Stella Kucera and Mrs Phyllis Priest, both of Grant, and Mrs Daisy Fister, North Platte, and six sons, John and Victor Benben both of Ord; William, Branek, and Henry, all living here, and Ted, at Bridgeport; also 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A daughter preceded her in death.
