Birth: Jan. 26, 1871, Germany
Death: Sep. 6, 1941
Ida Grove
Ida County
Iowa, USA

The Anthon Herald, 10 September 1941, page 1: Following an illness of many years, Mrs. Louis Bollmeyer of southeast of Anthon died at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 1941, in the Ida Grove hospital. She was 70 years, 7 months and 10 days of age. When her condition became serious, Mrs. Bollmeyer underwent a major operation August 21 at the Ida Grove hospital. The ordeal was too much for her weakened condition, and life gradually ebbed away until the end came peacefully Saturday evening. Amanda Koster, daughter of Heinrich and Mathilda Koster, was born January 26, 1871, at Nordleda, Hanover Province, Germany. She was baptized and confirmed there in the Lutheran faith. When she was eighteen years old she left her native land and came to the United States. She made her home in Brooklyn, New York, and it was there that she was married April 9, 1898, to Louis Bollmeyer. The first six months of the Bollmeyer's married life was spent in Brooklyn and then they moved to Woodbury county, Iowa, and engaged in farming. The remainder of Mrs. Bollmeyer's life was spent on farms near Anthon and Midway, the family living about four miles southeast of town the past two years. Surviving are her husband, two sons, Edwin of Hinton and Wilbert at home; four daughters, Charlotte at home, Mr. R.J. (Movina) Bottjen of Arthur, Mrs. Ernst (Henrietta) Rossow of Anthon, and Mrs. Alfred (Florence) Sands of Danbury; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Glandorf and Mrs. Mary Schumann of Anthon; a brother, William Koster of Correctionville, six grandchildren; many other relatives and a host of friends. A daughter, Mabel, died as a child of two years. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 9, in St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Midway by Rev. C.F. Gottberg. Interment was in the Midway Cemetery under direction of Hudgel's Funeral Service.
