Wayne Kordick, 82, of Corning died May 15, 2013, at Alegent Creighton Health Mercy Hospital in Corning.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 20, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Corning. The Rev. Lazarus Kirigia will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery near Bridgewater. Visitation with family present will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday with a Rosary prayer at 6 p.m. at Pearson Family Funeral Service, 701 Seventh St., Corning. Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Catholic Church and/or Alegent Creighton Health Mercy Hospital in Corning.
Wayne Albert Kordick, son of Elizabeth Ann (Bindel) and Albert Conrad Kordick, was born March 22, 1931, in Madison County.
Wayne graduated from Winterset High School and continued his education, earning a master's degree in vocational education from Iowa State University.
On June 17, 1961, Wayne married Barbara Jeanne Bryan.
Wayne taught vocational agriculture at Corning High School for 31 years. He also assisted his son-in-law Doug on the farm.
Wayne was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.
Wayne is survived by his wife Jeanne Kordick of Corning; children, Teresa (Doug) Kopp of Massena, Kevin (Julie) Kordick of Boone and Alan (Robyn) Kordick of Allen, Texas; grandchildren, Tyler and Daniel Kopp, Matthew and Andrew Kordick and Kenzie and Kenedee Kordick; sister Ilene (Dean) Moore; brothers, Earl (Karen) Kordick, Glenn (Kathleen) Kordick and Harold Zbierski; and brother-in-law Jim Moore.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; sister Lorene Moore; mother-in-law Dorothy Bryan and father-in-law John Bryan.
