Mrs. William C. Kolk Succumbs to Illness
Mrs. Bertha Marie Kolk, wife of William Clyde Kolk of 2514 Salu street, succumbed Tuesday at 8:20 p.m., in St. Joseph's Hospital to an ailment from which she had been a sufferer for a long period. Her death occurred with a few hours after her admittance for treatment.
Mrs. Kolk was a native of the Fosterburg area, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Hahnenkamp. She was in her thirty-ninth year, having observed her thirty-eight birthday last Saturday.
While Mrs. Kolk had been ailing for three or four years, her condition had not been serious until recently, and was not cause for alarm until yesterday when she unexpectedly took a change for the worse.
Besides her husband, four children, Alice Marie, Wilma Bertha, and William Leo and Wesley Lee, twins, survive, She also leaves five brothers, Henry, George, and Frank of Alton, and William and Edward Hahnenkamp of Nokomis.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. from the residence on Salu street with the Rev. C. E. Goddard, pastor of the College Avenue Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery.
