CLARA ANDERSON DIES SUDDENLY AT 72 YEARS
Mrs. Clara H. Anderson, 72, of 405 N. Center St., widow of the late Lawrence Anderson died suddenly Saturday morning in St. Joseph's Hospital.
Mrs. Anderson was stricken shortly after midnight, Friday. Firemen used the inhalator for an hour before she was taken to St. Jospeh's hospital.
She died approximately an hour after being admitted. Mrs. Anderson had been under a doctor's care for heart trouble.
A native of Lockport, the former Clara Koerner, she was born May 3, 1885. She resided in Lockport until 1903 when she was married and moved to Joliet. Her husband operated the Anderson Dairy Co. prior to his death in January, 1953.
Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Ladies Aid of St. Peter's Church, the Pocahontas Rebekah Lodge; the Royal Neighbors of American, Stevenson Camp; the Marquerite Chapter No. 187, Order of Eastern Star, and the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She was a past president of the Parent-Teachers Association.
Her survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Adams, of Joliet, and Mrs. John D. (Lucille) Ehm, of Lockport; six sons, Lawrence, Ralph, Richard K., Robert L., who is a city policeman, and Arthur B., all of Joliet, and Leroy H., of Buffalo, N.Y.; a brother, Jacob Koerner, of Pearl, Mich., a sister, Mrs. Olaf (Elizabeth) Dysterud, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and 16 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Sonntag Funeral Home. Revs. Erdmann and Martin Frenk will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m., Sunday and Monday.
