Albert E. Knutson
Albert E. Knutson passed away peacefully Monday, Dec. 13, surrounded by his loving family at his late Channahon residence following a long and courageous battle with diabetes and complications due to his illness.
He was born in Morris, the son of the late Albert and Agnes Knutson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Joanne (Benner) Knutson; loving father of Ann Knutson and James (Luz-Maria) Knutson; and proud grandfather of Mikkel and Erika Knutson. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and three brothers.
He was a distinguished veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion for 58 years. Mr. Knutson retired from Amoco Chemicals Corporation in 1992 due to health reasons. A family man who enjoyed time spent vacationing, gardening and fishing with those he loved the best.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, at Maple Funeral Home, 24300 W. Ford Road, Channahon. Entombment will be at Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa. Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m. until services begin.
