Growing up, she attended school in Rembrandt.
On February 10, 1938, Mildred was united in marriage to Herman Anderson at her parents home in Rembrandt. They were blessed with four children: Hattie Lee, Ronald, Pete, and Dennis. Together, they made their home in the Linn Grove area where they farmed for many years before moving to New Mexico in 1959. In 2013, Mildred moved back to Iowa.
Mildred was a servant of the Lord and enjoyed attending Lutheran Church services on Sunday mornings wherever she may be. She also treasured Sunday dinners with her family for as long as she can remember.
Mildred and Herman enjoyed travelling together, especially the trips they took to Europe and Alaska. In her spare time, you could find Mildred in the kitchen cooking or baking something delicious. A favorite pastime of Mildred’s was going out to eat and visiting with friends. Mildred was a very kind and devoted woman to her husband and family and she took care of Herman for four years following a stroke that he suffered. Mildred treasured spending time with her family and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Hattie Lee (Gary) Nelson of Spencer, Iowa; Ronald Anderson of Fort Worth, Texas; Pete (Cheryl) Anderson of Flora Vista, New Mexico; Dennis (Victoria) Anderson of Aztec, New Mexico; grandchildren: Randy (Grace) Nelson; Lori (Jeff) Edwardson; Kevin Nelson; Cinda (Danny) Sackett; Richard Anderson; Steven (Bobbi) Anderson; Stephanie (Eric) Blasing; David Anderson; Wade Anderson; Tyler (Sophia) Anderson; nineteen great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Gladys Anderson of Lindsborg, Kansas; several nieces; nephews; cousins; extended family and friends.
