With sad hearts we celebrate the life of Jimmie Charleen (Adams) Knuckles. Charleen was born to Faye and Gwinn Adams on December 22, 1959 in Cortez, Colo. Charleen left us October 15, 2009.

Charleen attended school in Cortez and graduated from MCHS in 1978 and then went on to attend York College in York, Neb. After college and living in Houston for a short while she returned to Cortez because she liked the simple and unhurried life.

Charleen married Brent Knuckles on June 24, 1995. Charleen has five children, Brandon Adams, Brenda Knuckles, Corbie Knuckles, Shiloah Knuckles, and Alisha Knuckles. Charleen loved her family and being with them was where she was happiest.

Charleen was always an outgoing, friendly person. She was able to find humor in everything and would try to make you laugh. She took enjoyment in the small things; a flower, a new or different coin, a new book. Charleen liked carousels and had a collection of small ones. Charleen enjoyed camping, fishing, her puppies, and she was always working some kind of needle work project. When circumstances afforded, Charleen liked to travel. She was able to go to Australia and loved every minute of her trip. San Francisco was also a favorite. More recently she enjoyed traveling to Montana, LaPorte, Denver, Phoenix, and Flora Vista for family graduations.

Charleen worked for Wal Mart for 21 years. She enjoyed her job and the people she worked with.

Charleen leaves behind her husband, Brent; her sons, Brandon and Shiloah; her daughters, Corbie, and Alisha of Cortez; step daughter, Brenda; her parents, Gwinn and Faye Adams of Cortez; her sisters, Gwinna Schwartz (Lew) of Flora Vista, N.M.; Sarah Zubia (Rudy), and Lois Adams both of LaPorte, Tex.; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marilyn and J. D. Knuckles of Dove Creek; her brothers-in-law, Jeff Knuckles of Denver, Colo.; Rod Knuckles of Buckeye, Ariz.; sisters-in-law Michelle Jones (Neil) and Stacy Hankins (Aaron) both of Dove Creek; plus tons of nieces and nephews.
