...........THE GREATEST FATHER ON EARTH

Our Father Lon David Knox Jr. was born in Oil City, Pa. He was the son of Lon Daivd (John) Knox Sr. and Thelma Romaine Renninger Knox. He was one of six children. Thelma Jean, Margaret Joan, Lon David, Nadine Lousie, Charles F. and Mildred E. Dad proudly served in the United States Navy upon the U.S.S. Astoria during the war. He married Minnie Bea Lewis Knox, daughter of Dorothy Conrad Lewis Bickel, Grand daughter of Suzie Hogle Conrad Joris Posey on September 12, 1952. Together they had three children, Lon David Knox III, Stephen Dale Knox and Micheal Dennis Knox. "Pa" (named by his grandson Jason Dale Knox) was all about his children and grandchildren. He was our Scout leader, teaching Hunting, Hiking, Swimming, boating, etc. Back then he was our "FISH FINDER", our "G.P.S", our "ROAD ATLAS". We didn't need all those gadgets. We miss you so much, you are always in our thoughts. Lon worked on the railroad in his early years as a lineman. He worked for the Worthington Corp. until the company went out of business in Oil City. He then worked as a Union Laborer until his retirement.
