Patricia Ann Karsk was born February 7, 1950 in Kearney, NE to Melvin and Dorothy (Francis) Knight. She graduated from Wood River High School in 1968 then St. Francis School of Nursing in 1971 with her RN. She then graduated from the University of Nebraska-Kearney with her BS in Psychology. Pat then graduated from Wesleyan University with a MS in Nursing Education in 2002.
Pat worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney for 10 years where she started the Infection Control Program in the ICU. She worked for Columbus Community Hospital from 1980-1984. Pat then went to work for Central Community College from 1984 until 2009. She was the campus coordinator of the Nursing program and Dean of Nursing from 2003-2007. Pat served on the board of the Nebraska Nursing Association and was a member of the Nebraska League for Nursing. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and served in many capacities in the DWS ministry for the Omaha Archdiocese and was a circle leader for the Christian Mothers. Pat was also a volunteer for the Center for Survivors from 2005-2009.
