Elmer William Knepper, 84, of Three Springs, R.D.1, died Tuesday, January 18, 1972 at 9:50 a.m., in the Fulton County Medical Center at McConnellsburg where he had been a patient for one day. He had been in failing health for hte past nine years.
Born October 5, 1887 in Dublin Mills, he was a son of the late Peter and Amanda (McClain) Knepper. He was united in marriage to Nellie Mae Yingling on June 4, 1916 at Hustontown by the Rev. George Rydell of the Methodist faith. She preceded him in death March 5, 1965.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter: Mrs. Ladema Barnett, Three Springs; Chalmer and Arley Knepper, both of Three Springs. One son preceded him in death. There are seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Two grandchildren were reared in the home, Merle Kerlin of Pasadena, MD and Mrs. Barbara Cutchall of Three Springs. He was the last of his immediate family of six.
The deceased was of the Protestant faith. During his life, he had been engaged in the occupation of farming.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 21 at 2 p.m. from the Ott funeral home, Orbisonia. The Rev. Ronald A. Beverlin of the Rockhill Church of the Brethren will officiate and interment will be made in Center Cemetery, Hustontown. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clock this Wednesday evening and until the hour of the services on Friday.
