Emma Berens

Emma Berens, 91, of Windsor died Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Windsor Health Care Center. She was born Dec. 27, 1911, in Windsor to Rinehart and Susanna (Miller) Knaus.

On Aug. 5, 1928, she married David K Berens in Greeley. He is deceased.

Mrs. Berens attended Bracewell School in Weld County. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Windsor. She enjoyed flower gardening, reading and family. A homemaker, she helped her husband in farming and cooked meals for threshing machine crews.

Survivors are a daughter, Nancy Weinmeister and husband Ray of California; two sons, John Berens and wife Verna and David “Bud” Berens and wife Colleen all of Windsor; three sisters, Esther Rutz of Windsor, Violet Kobobel of Greeley and Miriam Kobobel of Weldona; a brother, Robert Knaus of Greeley; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. A daughter, Barbara Miller, died in 1995; and her parents, four sisters and two brothers are deceased.

Services will be at 10 am. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Windsor.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Greeley.

Friends may visit from 3-7 p.m. Thursday at Stoddard Funeral Home.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Windsor United Church in care of Stoddard, 3205 W. 28th St., Greeley, CO 0634.
