Patricia A. Durley, 68, of Potosi, died Saturday, September 23, 2006, at her home after an extended battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). She was born April 22, 1938, in North Lancaster Township, the daughter of Howard I. and Charlotte M. (Yoose) Knapp.
She married William W. Durley on February 18, 1953, in Galena, Ill. Music was Pat's passion, and in addition to playing the piano, she also sang in numerous church choirs. She was a vocal soloist for many weddings, funerals, and special events in Southern Wisconsin, Central Illinois, and Central Florida.
Pat was a member of the National Board of Realtors and served on the board of directors for the YWCA of Canton, Ill. Pat attended Spoon River College in Canton, Ill., and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Kenosha. She most recently worked as an international division customer service administrator with the J.I. Case Company in Racine
She is survived by her husband, William Durley, Potosi; their children, Kathy Scheetz (Dennis Freiheit), Dallas, Texas, Cheryl (Frank) Duvall, Hanover Park, Ill., Randal (Terry Murphy) Durley, Leeds, AL., and Debra Durley (Danny Kohls), Prairie du Chien; her parents, Alfred and Charlotte Dressler, Potosi; and seven grandchildren, Trevor Scheetz, Joachim Durley, Shannon Peth, Avery Scheetz, Jacob Duvall, Katie Lambert, and Trisha Peth.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church in Lancaster with Reverend Doug Matheson officiating. Burial will be in Hurricane Cemetery, South Lancaster Township.
