............KNAPP-BELLINGER.......

On Wednesday evening the marriage of Mr. Lawrence H. Knapp and Miss Daisy Bellinger was solemnized at the residence of the brides father in East Portland. The exterior of the beautiful new colonial residence was aglow with light from a myriadof gas jets and electric lights, while the interior had been gaily bedecked by artists who were thoroughly conversant with the decorator's art. The gold and ivory-white drawing-room was daintily hung with cordons of emilax, festooned over the windows and gracefully entwined about the pictures, while on the mantle were vases of white chrysanthemums. The library was adorned with Christmas evergreens and holly berries.

The large hallway where the ceremony was performed was, however the principal attractive feature, and here he embellishments were arranged in great profusion and rare taste. The [ ] ceiling was ornamental with long garlands of evergreens, which were stretched from side to side, while the tall columns were wreathed with other flowers. The marriage bell was of pure white chrysanthemums and were suspended directly in front of the stairway, which was almost hidden from view by a mass of vines of trailing English Ivy, and it was front of this deep green background that the bridal party took their positions.

A few minutes past 8 P.M. the stringed orchestra struck up the wedding march and the party marched down the winding stairway to the hall below. First came the ushers, Mr. J. Con Hillman, Mr. Edward Lawrence and Mr. Wilbur Coman, followed by the maid of honor, Miss Ramsey, the bridesmaids, Miss Laura Knapp, Miss Martha Coman and Miss Bertha Breyman, and last the bride, leaning on the arm of her father. They were met at the foot of the stairway by Rev. Dr. T.L. Eliot and the groom and his best man, Mr. Victor C. Bellinger. [ Dr. T.L. Eliot, pastor emeritus of the First Unitarian Church of Portland].

Congratulations followed the ceremony and later a splendid wedding supper was served, and the health of the bride and groom were drank in bumpers of sparkling champagne. The presents were numerious and very beautiful, and displayed in one of the rooms on the upper floor. Dancing was indulged in until about 11 o'clock and the affair was delightful in every way. Mr. and Mrs. Knapp have gone to housekeeping at the residence o the groom's father, Mr. R. B. Knapp.

The bride looked beautiful in a white hengaline tea train. Her gracefully arranged veil of Brussels point was held in place by a wreath of natural orange blossoms. She carried a hand bouquet exquisite flowers. At her throat she wore a magnificent diamond pendant, which, with the veil, was the gift of the groom's mother.
