Services For Richard Knapp Were Monday

Richard D. Knapp, Kennard, Nebraska, was killed in a one car accident on a country road about two miles of Valley Nebraska at about 10:30 according to a farmer who witnessed the accident.

According to reports from the Nebraska State Patrol, the car rolled several times into a field after going out of control. Mr. Knapp was pinned in the car and it took the Valley Rescue Squad about an hour to free his body.

Mr. Knapp was born in Omaha, Nebraska, November 13, 1952, and was twenty-four at the time of his death. He had been a resident of Kennard for approximately twelve years.

Services were held at Roeder Mortuary, Monday, November 29, at 1:00 p.m. Reverend John Fritzmeier of the Blair Congregational Church conducted the services. Interment was at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Richard is survived by his wife Cheryl L., two daughters, Tracey and Denise, all of Fremont, Nebraska, his mother, Mary A. Knapp Schlotfeld, a brother, Dennis, both of Kennard and grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Magill, of Tekamah, Nebraska.

Last Rites For Richard Knapp Were Held Monday

A service of Remembrance was held on Monday, November 29, at the Roeder Mortuary in Omaha for Richard Danny Knapp of Kennard. The service was conducted by the Rev. John E. Fritzmeier, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church of Kennard. A luncheon was held at the church after the interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery of Omaha.

Richard Knapp was born November 13, 1952 and died November 25, 1976 in a car accident. He and his wife Cheryle, were married November 18, 1972 and have two daughters, Tracie and Denise. Richard is also survived by his mother, Mary A. Knapp Schlotfeld of Kennard and his brother Dennis, of Kennard, as well as by his grandparents, Mrs. Mary Knapp of Omaha, and Mrs. Floyd Magill of Tekamah. He had worked as a semi-truck driver and a welder.
