"A Most honourable notice has been taken in the Newburyport Herald of the lately deceased Capt. Nathaniel Knapp, who had finished four score years. We know of no man in private condition, who has deserved throughout life a more honorable testimony to the virtues which bless domestic life, exalt the social character, and secure the confidence of business and commerce, as belonging to his own character. We have known him half the period of his active life, and we find no affection of the heart which is not enriched by memory of him."
