Pauline Ann Kmetz Balent, 96, of Panama City passed away Friday, May 18, 2012 at St. Andrews Bay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Nov. 15, 1915 to the late Michael and Elizabeth Kmetz in Girard, Ill. Mrs. Balent moved to the Panama City area 7 years ago, was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, a member of the Altar Society and was a fine maker of the Rosary for Missions.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Balent in 1984; her parents; four brothers, Michael Kmetz, John Kmetz, Joseph Kmetz, Albert Kmetz; and a sister, Mary Vaillancourt.

Mrs. Balent is survived by loving nieces, Bettie Parks and husband Bill of Panama City, Joyce Syndrowski and husband Dale of Plano, Texas; a sister, Agnes Marzec of Plano, Teaxs; and many other nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto, Ill.

The family would like to thank the nurses on the north station at St. Andrews Bay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their love and care they gave Mrs. Balent.
