MRS. BECKER DIES AT YANKTON HOSPITAL
Veteran Pioneer of St. Helena Victim of Rheumatic Ailment
Mrs. Joseph Becker, nee Elizabeth Klug, 66, Cedar county pioneer and long time resident of St. Helena passed away at Sacred Heart hospital following a rheumatic illness of three weeks.
Mrs. Becker was born the daughter of Stephen Klug, sr., near St. Helena March 18, 1870. She lived with her parents on their farm until her marriage in 1890 to Joseph Becker of St. Helena. To this union were born 11 children, eight boys and three girls, surviving besides her husband are Arthur, Fred, Arnold, Joseph jr., Gilbert, Alphonse, Edgar all of St. Helena and Raymond of Eagle Cutt, S. D., and Mrs. Rudolph Schulte of Fordyce and Mrs. Gregory Sudbeck of Hartington. She is also survived by two brothers John Klug of Bonesteel S. D., and Henry Klug of near Wynot.
Mrs. Becker has been a member of the Catholic church her entire life being also a member of the Ladies Altar Society at St. Helena. Funeral services will be held at Immaculate Conception church, St. Helena at 10 o'clock Thursday morning with Rev. B. H. Teves conducting services. Burial will be made at St. Helena cemetery.
