KLUEVER--John Kluever, 74, dies this morning
John Kluever, 74, of 3323 13th street died this morning, apparently of a heart attack, while he was driving his car.
Kluever was driving about four miles west of Columbus on highways 81 and 22, at about 8:20 a.m. today, when witnesses said he slumped over the steering wheel and his car went into a ditch, striking a telephone pole.
The crash unit was called, but Mr. Kluever was apparently dead on arrival. The body is at the McKown Funeral Home. A complete obituary will appear in the Telegram later.

KLUEVER--Funeral services for John Kluever on Tuesday
Funeral services for John Kluever, 74, who died Saturday, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist church. The Rev. Ervin C. Basler will officiate, and burial will be in Columbus cemetery.
The body lies in state at McKown Funeral Home until noon Tuesday, then at the church from 1 p.m. Tuesday until the hour of service.
He was born Aug. 3, 1890, in Platte county, the son of Henry and Dorothea Bargman Kluever, and attended rural school.
Mr. Kluever was married to Elsie Berger March 8, 1913. They resided on a farm near Platte Center until 1916, when they came to Columbus.
He was a mechanic, and also worked as a power district employe about nine years around the 1930's. He enjoyed woodworking as a hobby.
Mr. Kluever was affilliated with the Baptist church. He was a member of the Oddfellows Lodge and was a past noble grand of that organization, and had also been a member of the Electrical Workers Union.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Allen E. Kluever of Columbus; four grandchildren, Pamela, Allen, Thomas and Elizabeth; and one brother, Fred, of Columbus. His parents, three brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Baptist church.
