Eugene Perry Klingensmith, 69, of 163 Kirkpatrick St., Leechburg, died yesterday (Aug. 13, 1970) at 7:25 p.m. while en route to Citizens General Hospital Emergency Room, New Kensington.
Mr. Klingensmith complained of chest pains after eating his dinner and was en route to see his doctor in Lower Burrell when he was fatally stricken. His son, Ronald Eugene Klingensmith of Allegheny Township, was driving his father to the doctor. Noticing his father's worsening condition, he summoned policemen who escorted him to the New Kensington hospital. Mr. Klingensmith had no history of previous heart trouble.
Born Sept. 9, 1900, in Gilpin Township, he was a son of Presley Alan and Lola Ruth Baker Klingensmith.
Mr. Klingensmith and his wife, Lillian May Stull Klingensmith were married on Oct. 2, 1922 in West Virginia and celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary this past October.
He retired in May, 1965 from West Leechburg plant of Allegheny Ludlum Industries after 42 years of service. He was a member of Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hyde Park.
Surviving besides his widow and his son are one sister, Mrs. Andrew A. (Ella) Anderson of Sunbury, and four grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the Dean W. Cline Funeral Home, 260 Market Street, Leechburg from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow where services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Charles R. Chaple, his pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
