Samuel Klingensmith Fayetteville, Ga.
Samuel "Sam" Klingensmith, 75, of Fayetteville, Ga., died Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, at Piedmont Fayette Hospital in Fayetteville. He was born Aug. 26, 1932, in Markle, son of the late Lloyd Burghan Sr. and Blanche (Downing) Klingensmith.
He was employed at Northwest Airlines and retired after 42 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army and loved aviation and flying.
Sam is survived by his wife of 51 years, Coleen (Mock) Klingensmith, of Fayetteville; daughters, Kathleen Rodgers and husband, Harold, of McDonough, Ga., and Kelly Klingensmith, of Vandergrift; sons, Kurt Klingensmith, of Vandergrift, and Kris Klingensmith, of Markle; granddaughter, Gwendolyn Rodgers, of Georgia; brothers, Glenn Klingensmith and wife, Peggy, of West Harrison, Ind., and James Klingensmith and wife, Laurel, of Markle; sisters, Sally Marks, of Bastrop, Texas, and Jerri Klingensmith, of Pasadena, Texas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd Klingensmith Jr.
His family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 until religious services at 11 a.m. Thursday at the KELLY L. CORRIDONI FUNERAL HOME, North Apollo, with Dr. Ronald W. Raptosh, pastor of the First Methodist Church in Leechburg, officiating.
Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
