CLAUDE — Bennye Ruth Hundley Klier, 85, of Claude died Tuesday, March 7, 2013.
Services will be private. Inurnment will be at a later date in Claude Cemetery. Arrangements are by Robertson Armstrong Chapel of Claude.
Bennye was born Dec. 9, 1927, in Claude to Jess and Ruth Hundley. She married Norbert Glen Klier on Nov. 13, 1960, in Los Angeles. She owned several beauty salons in Inglewood, Calif., for many years. Bennye also worked and retired from United Airlines, working in Denver, Salt Lake City and Honolulu.
She was a strong Christian woman and mother and was a member of her church in East Carbon City, Utah. She always cooked meals and helped any way she could in serving her Lord. She moved back to Claude in January 2011 to be with family and friends and resided at the Hudson House in Claude. She will be remembered for her kindness and loving nature to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years on April 15, 2010; a daughter, Marie Patterson; and her parents.
Survivors include a son, Michael Klier of Dallas; two daughters, Tanya Miller of Beaverton, Ore., and Cathy Benzler and husband Tom of Port Angeles, Wash.; two brothers, Delbert Hundley and Wildon "Warty" Hundley, both of Claude; three sisters, Nelda Stephenson of Claude, Donna Bartley of New Bern, N.C., and Nancy Moore of Amistad, N.M.; three granddaughters, Shauna Arnold and husband James, Chelsea Miller and Tammy Alsdorf and husband Gunnar; two grandsons, Brian Benzler and wife Marifa and Miles Benzler and wife Laurenn; and her great-grandchildren, Jett, Jonas, Sylvanna, Desirae, Joshua, Jeremy and Caitlin.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the Hudson House for all the loving care and to all the resident friends made the last three years.
The family suggests memorials be to American Cancer Society, 3915 S. Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109.
