Sarah A. Birch (nee Kissinger) widow of Charles S. Birch, former proprietor of the American House, died as a result of apoplexy at 5 a.m. today at her home, 43 North Fourth street, after a lingering illness. She was 76 years old. Mrs. Birch is survived by three daughters and one son, Robert S. Birch, principal of the Reading High School for Boys.
