Thelma entered into rest at the age of 85, at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, WA, on June 8, 2016. She was born on October 21, 1930 in Elk, WA to William Harry Thomas and Mabel Mae Thomas. She was one of three children. The family moved to Spokane in 1944 and Thelma soon became a member of Hillyard Christian Church, now Westgate Christian Church and has been a member there ever since. She graduated from Rogers High School in 1948. After high school she worked at the Crescent, first as a gift wrapper then in alterations. She married Ray Edward Kissell in 1955 and it lasted over 50 years until his passing in 2006. She is survived by two children, Donna Knesek of Spokane, WA and Fred Kissell of Thompson Station, TN; two grandchildren, Melissa and Michael Knesek, both of Spokane; and twin brother Floyd Thomas of Spokane. She is preceded in death by her husband Ray Kissell and brother Ralph Thomas. Heritage Funeral Home 508 N Government Way is entrusted with the care for final arrangements. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 10 am to 5 pm and Monday, June 13, 2016 from 10 am to 5 pm. The funeral will be held in the Sunset Chapel at Fairmont Memorial Park on Tuesday June 14, 2016 at 11:30 am with a graveside service to follow.
