Lois graduated from Strong Vincent High School, class of 1943. She worked at General Electric and Erie Resister Corp. She married and moved away from Erie, becoming involved with Artex as a representative while her husband was serving in the Air Force and later retired from the Base Exchange at Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Oscoda, Michigan. Her hobbies included material painting (Artex), sewing, quilting, and collecting dolls.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in death by her husband, Henry Gaczkowski (d 1/31/1984 age 59); three brothers, Charles, Edward, Jr., and Henry "Bud" Kissell; and Bud's wife, Irene Kissell.
Lois is survived by her son, Dennis Ganzer of Union Mills, North Carolina; a sister, Judy Vota and her husband, Al, of Erie, Pa.; her nephew, Brian Vota; her nieces, Cheryl Walker and her husband, Dave, Nancy Jo Lawrence and LuAnn Mays, all of Erie; a special great-nephew, Connor Vota-Walker of Erie; a very close cousin, Sally Leidy and her husband, Cornell, of Meyerstown, Pa.; a good friend, Gladys Marx of Oscoda, Michigan; and her loyal companions, her dogs, Taffy, Roxanne, and Mutley.
Burial was private in Erie Cemetery.
