CASTLEWOOD, Va. Marie Cook, 83, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at her home. She was born in Dante, Va.; daughter of the late Willie and Lillie Phillips Kiser. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Cook; two sisters, June Witt and Effie Kiser; and two brothers, Billy Kiser and Bobby Kiser. She is survived by three daughters, Dawn Hawkins and husband, Sammy of Castlewood, Leta Mack of Castlewood, and Glenda Maphis and husband, Michael of Gordonville, Va.; two sons, Billy Ferguson of Charlottesville, Va., and James Ferguson and wife, Priscilla of Bristol, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Marie Cook will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood with the Rev. Harold Meade officiating. Committal services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, in Kiser - Phillips Cemetery, Dante. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 10:15 a.m. Thursday. Pallbearers will be Zack Bartee, Anthony Turner, Jeff Kiser, Sam Hawkins, David Witt, and James Brown. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 23, 2012, in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood.
