Mrs. Mary Ellen Jones, 77, a former Uniontown resident, died yesterday in the hospital at Fort Campbell, KY. For the past 20 years she had made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Major and Mrs. James V (Wilma) McCord, Kingston, TN.

Mrs. Jones was born in Uniontown May 21, 1887, the daughter of M. D. and Louise Barto Kirker. She married Ira Jones Nov. 7, 1906 at Uniontown. The Joneses operated a grocery store for a while in Uniontown, and Mrs. Jones later became the Uniontown telephone operator.

Mrs. Jones was a member of the Uniontown Baptist Church and the Royal Neighbors of America.

Mrs. Mertel Cameron of Fort Scott is a sister. There are four grandchildren. Mrs. Charles Draper, Redfield, is an aunt.
