Margaret Ellen Benjamin, 85, Nampa, died Tuesday at Twin Falls. She was born Nov. 15, 1896, at Stillwater, Oka., a daughter of Jeremiah and Mamie L. Johnson Kirchner, and was reared and educated there. She moved to McCune, Kan., in 1911, and married Bert Hill in 1914 in Kansas. They farmed in the McCune area until 1931 when they moved to Nampa. Mr. Hill died somewhat later. She married Carl Benjamin April 11, 1940, in Nampa, where they made their home. He died Dec. 28, 1962. She did laundry for various families and for the First Christian Church. She was a member of the Nampa First Christian Church.
She is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Oscar (Della) Gregory, Oroville, Calif.; Mayme Talkington, Nampa; Edna Myers, Paradise, Calif.; Joyce McDonald, Salmon, Idaho; Rose Pearson, Poplar, Wis.; Dorothy Johnson, Canton, Ohio; Mrs. Dale (Carol) Bly, Nampa; two brothers, William Kirchner, Caldwell; Louis Kirchner, Missouri; three sisters, Rosie Gardood, Whitman, Neb.; Mabel Rader, Alliance, Neb.; Etta Smith, Nampa; 32 grandchildren, 69 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. One son, two brothers, and one sister preceded her in death.
