Gladys Pannell Kinsland, 94, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2005.

A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Callie Hall Pannell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Kinsland, who died in 1989; four sisters, Hazel Nell Talley, Carrie Lee Ramey, Clara Sue Mooney and Frances L. Pannell; and two brothers, Gene Pannell and Rufus Pannell.

She was a graduate of Western Carolina University with a master's degree in education. She retired from the Macon County school system after 44 years of teaching. She was a life member of Nequassa Chapter #43, Order of Eastern Star and a member of First Baptist Church.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 7, at 11 a.m., in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Enloe officiated.

Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery with the Eastern Star Chapter in charge of graveside rites. Pallbearers were David Kinsland, Gregg Kinsland, Mike Kinsland, Tom Alligood, Ricky Waldroop and Bud Talley.
