Mary Annis McDowell is the daughter of James Harvey McDowell (1881-1967) and Bertha M. Higdon (1888-1975). She married William Arthur Kinsland (1898-1976) about 1932. Together they have two sons.

Annis M. Kinsland, 88, of Franklin, died Monday, May 10, in a Highlands-Cashiers hospital.
A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late James H. McDowell and Bertha Higdon McDowell. She was a teaching assistant for LBJ Job Corps, a member of First Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Kinsland, who died in 1976.
She is survived by two sons, James "Bo" Kinsland of Franklin and William J. Kinsland of Hot Springs; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 12, at 3 p.m., in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home, with Revs. Johnny Smith, Harold Ball and Joseph Sustarsic officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Sanctuary Renovation Fund.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
