PEORIA, IL - Mr. William "Bill" Roy Kinnick, age 86, of Telford, Tenn., formerly of Peoria, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at the Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tenn.
Mr. Kinnick was born on July 30, 1922, in Washington County, Tenn. He was the son of the late James Garfield and Essie Hancher Kinnick.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Kinnick was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ira Kinnick, John Kinnick and James "Jabo" Kinnick, and his sister, Emma Francis Kinnick Roache.
He was a member of Grace Brethren Church in Telford, Tenn.
Mr. Kinnick was a World War II veteran. He retired in 1982 from Caterpillar Tractor Company after 30 years of service.
He was a member of Bowmantown Ruritan and delivered Meals on Wheels.
Mr. Kinnick enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing Rook.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Charlotte Marie Brabson Kinnick; three children, William Thomas Kinnick, Teresa Kinnick Jordan and Kathryn Kinnick Shanine and their spouses and children; one sister-in-law, Hazel Hall; and several nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home in Jonesborough, Tenn. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, at Grace Brethren Church in Telford, Tenn., with Pastor Bob Skeen and Dr. David Guinn officiating. Interment will follow in Grace Brethren Church Cemetery in Telford. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
