at VNA Hospice at Community Medical Center
after a brief illness.
Born April 16, 1934, in Auburn, Maine,
daughter of the late Charles and Ella Kinney,
she worked as an L.P.N. at Connecticut Valley
Hospital for many years, then various nursing
homes in Maine and Connecticut.
She was a very talented painter and loved
knitting, sewing and playing cribbage.
She was better known as "Ma" to those who knew and loved her.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are her four children: a son, Charles Reed and daughter-in-law, Ruthann Reed, Fort Myers, Fla.; a son, Ronald E. Chagnon and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Chagnon, Lebanon, Tenn.; a daughter, Nancy J. Davis, Ransom; and a son, Steven M. Chagnon and daughter-in-law, Marie Chagnon, Scranton; eight grandchildren, Jason Davis, Ransom; Robert Davis, Ransom; Sarah, Elizabeth and Danielle Chagnon, all of Lebanon, Tenn.; Todd Bankowski, Fort Myers, Fla.; Melissa Bankowski, Scranton; and Michael Skidgel, Caribou, Maine; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Graydon Kinney, Madrid, Maine; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Snows Church, Clarks Summit. A private celebration of her life will be Tuesday at Convention Hall, Pittston.
Interment will be held in July at the family cemetery in Maine.
Ma's Claim to fame is a commercial she did as Mrs. Claus for American Accents from October 1995 to December 1997.
