Funeral services for Mrs. Elisha W. Brown, who passed away Friday morning at her home on Higgins Hill at the advanced age of 80, were held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Union Baptist Church. Rev. John Chester Smith officiated. Entombment took place at Mt. Pleasant cemetery. The bearers were Edwin Eager, M. E. Ball, W. T. Parks and George Morey.

Eliza C., daughter of Willard and Mary Jane (Parker) Kinne was born in Waterford on March 4, 1854. She received her elementary education in the schools of her native town and then attended the academies at St. Johnsbury and McIndoes, fitting herself for a teacher. In this profession she was most successful and there are many of her former pupils who received the education during her many years of teaching in Waterford and Monroe who will reverence her memory. On May 30, 1883, she was united in marriage to Elisha K. Brown. For many years they resided in Lower Waterford and in 1919 purchased their present home on Higgins Hill. Two sons were born to them, Harry K., who resides in Lansing, Mich., and Dwight B., who, with his wife have been caring for the aged couple. Besides her husband and sons she is survived by three granddaughters, Mary, Mildred and Leota Brown of Lansing and three brothers, Wilmot Kinne, who made his home with his sister, Harvey Kinne of Littleton, N.H., and Nathan Kinne of Somerville, Mass.

Mrs. Brown was a faithful member for many years of the Lower Waterford Congregational church and when services were no longer held there she continued to attend regularly the Union Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. She was a woman of the highest principles, practicing her Christian faith in her every day life by ministering love, and kindliness among her many friends and in her home. She was most capable. A woman of many accomplishments for not only was she an excellent mother and homemaker but also served the town of Waterford for twenty years as assistant town clerk. In 1933 Mr. and Mrs. Brown celebrated their golden wedding, when many of their friends paid them honor.

Her son, Harry Brown, of Lansing, Mich., was among those attending the funeral services.
