Obituary from Ellensburg Capital (Ellensburg, Wash.) on Oct. 15, 1942 -
John W. Kinkade, 75, pioneer Kittitas county rancher, died early today at a local hospital, following an illness of several months. Mr. Kinkade came to the valley in 1882 and had been engaged in farming here for many years three miles east of this city.
Surviving are a son, Dallas Kinkade, one brother and one sister. R. M. Kinkade and Mrs. W. C. Wright, all of Ellensburg; also two sisters, Mrs. Nora Ordie of Troy, Mont., and Mrs. Mae Bailes of Hoquiam, Wash. there are also two grandchildren, Howard and Lorine Kinkade of Ellensburg. His wife passed away here 13 years ago.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Honeycutt chapel with the Rev. William Thompson of the Presbyterian church officiating. Interment will be in IOOF Cemetery.
